These GEL-NYC™ sneakers source inspiration from Needles' classic apparel pieces​ and the intricate details produced by a rare knitting machine in their factory.
The ASICS Stripes are stamped with the same four-stripe sideline pattern that appears on the sides of the track pants and jackets. Meanwhile, the curved overlays are updated with jagged etches that resemble glitch effects from digital games.
ASICS and Needles logos appear individually on each tongue for an asymmetric look, while the Needles butterfly moniker is embroidered onto the heels. Lastly, the shoes feature purple rounded laces that coordinate with the Japanese collaborator's signature colors.
