KENGO KUMA ArchisiteORU
Colour: Illusion Blue/Black
The third collaboration between ASICS and Kengo Kuma (Kengo Kuma Architects and Urban Design Office). This time, we have adopted the upper cover approach and the same "hetero-knit" structure as the past collaboration model METARIDE AMU. This is the first ASICS to use Dyneema material in the upper cover. The flexible material is folded to create a design that changes its appearance depending on the occasion, and also has functionality. A vibrant orange strap holds the flexible upper together, representing both function and design. The inner structure, which can be seen through from the outside, uses the same "heavy knitting" structure that was also used in METARIDE AMU, giving consideration to the fit. For touring, the sole of the trail shoe FUJI LITE 2 is used, and the FF BLAST midsole, which uses sustainable material cellulose nanofiber, provides resilience and lightness, supporting leg movement. Furthermore, the outer sole is designed to increase grip on dirt and muddy roads, and is designed with utility in mind for use on road surfaces such as those found at construction sites, as well as everyday use around town.
• Outer material: rubber sole
